Student Tourist Visa Requirements
You must obtain a Portugal student visa if you want to study in the country. Find out more about eligibility requirements for Tourist Visa for Students:
- Portugal visa application form, filled completely and signed.
- Two recent photographs, taken within the 3 months according to the following Schengen visa photo requirements:
- Two similar photos not more than 6 months old.
- 35x45mm size
- It must be a colour photograph with a light background.
- The applicant must look straight in the camera with closed mouth, neutral facial expressions.
- It is recommended to avoid wearing uniforms as well as outfit matching with the background.
- A valid passport with the following requirements:
- Issued within the last ten years.
- Must have 2 full blank pages for visa stamp.
- It should be valid for at least 3 months after you come back to the UK from Portugal.
- Previous passports with visa stamps on them (if any).

- Proof of accommodations which clearly displays the information about your stay in Portugal throughout your trip. One of the following possibilities applies here:

- Invitation letter from your host in Portugal where you will be staying during your holidays.
- Financial proof which states that you will be able to sustain yourself financially throughout your stay in Portugal. You have to submit one of the following documents:
- Bank statement which displays that you have sufficient funds in your account for your trip. The statement cannot be more than three months old.
- Letter of sponsorship from a third party stating that they will be paying for your trip to Portugal. This letter must be submitted along with your sponsor’s bank statement which should not be older than 3 months in order to be considered valid.
- A combination of both of the above mentioned documents.
Additional Documents Requirement
- Must have received acceptance by academic institute of Portugal to study (Must be able to present admission proof).
- Character certificate.
